Identify this 70s-80s animated fantasy/sci-fi movie
Hello, I'm trying to rediscover a movie I used to watch often when I was little. That was in the 80s, so I'm thinking the film was made in the 70s or 80s. My parents recorded it off TV, probably Hbo, if that helps any. It was set in space, a foreign planet, and the plot centered around odd-looking aliens that were going through some sort of competition or a physical trial of some sort. The animation was somewhat crude and I remember most of the characters "pulsating" or swaying to & fro anytime they were standing still. Strange. I think there were several deaths in the movie. It may have even been a TV show, or just made-for-tv.

I remember this cartoon feature on HBO around the mid eighties. It was made by a French studio.
Baron Munchausen and his crew go to the moon in search of the secret of immortality. They meet the natives of the moon, the Selenites. The Selenites are generally friendly people whose heads aren't attached to their bodies. During Munchausen's visit the Selenites are attacked by evil little green invaders. He and his crew use their special gifts to fend off the invaders

THAT IS IT! Thank you so much! I remember the detachable heads! I thought I gave a really weak description, but you nailed it, first try.
