Just a quick question.
The color wheel indicates that your computer is processing a task, similar to times when you would see an hourglass on your windows computer. If you see it for too long however, the application has probably crashed on you.
If you see the spinner when hovering over an open application window and it goes away when over the finder of desktop it is the application that is launching, processing, hung of crashed. If the spner is present over application windows and the finder it is usually to OS that is having problems. This is not fool proof but can be used to tell you if you should force quit an application or restart.
Hi Pelhouses,
What application is giving you the trouble? Is it one specific one or all of your applications?
