what volume of CO2 is produced when 2g of CuCO3 is heated with a bunsen burner?
Hey, I worked this out by adding up the molar mass of CuCO3 = 123.54 g/mol-3.
Then divide the mass 2g by molar mass to give me the number of moles 0.0162.
Is this correct? I think I am along the right lines but I'm not sure, any help would be great, thank you :)

Yes, you're on the right track.

Now, you have the initial number of moles of CuCO3.

    Write the balanced equation:

One mole of CaCO3 produces 1 mole of CO2.
So, 0.0162 moles of CaCO3 will give 0.0162 moles of CO2!

Now, you should know that at room temperature, one mole of gas occupies 24 dm^3 (or 24 L)

Work out how much volume does the 0.0162 mol of CO2 occupy, and you're done! :)

    I hope it helped!
