About a year ago we installed a dishwasher, shortly after the pressure to our cold water in the kitchen sink went way down. Now today, the cold water is down to a drip. I took off the faucet down to the pipe, turn the water on and it just dripped out. The hot water is all good, but no cold. What could it be?

Hi Kristi,

If you don't have cold water to your faucet and the dishwasher then you have problem with your angle valve, close the main water S/O valve to the house, remove the packing nut from the angle valve remove the stem see the image below, have a pan ready to catch the water ask some one to open the main S/O valve slowly for a second, if good flow you need to replace the stem or the angle valve assembly, good luck.

The dishwasher is getting water just fine. WHen they hooked up the dishwasher, they only hooked up the hot water line. It seems to be just cold water pipe to the sink. Do you think it's still the same issue?

Sorry I miss read your post I thought that the dishwasher was connected to the cold side.

To troubleshoot close the angle valve, disconnect the supply line at the angle valve see the image below, place a pane under the valve open the handle slowly and see water flow if no flow replace the angle valve, if water flow is good problem is between the angle valve and the faucet, now connect the open end of the supply line, disconnect the top end under the faucet, place the open end in the pane, open the angle valve check water flow if no flow replace the supply line, if flow is good problem is with your faucet and tell us the brand and the model number and we will tell you how to fix it, good luck.

The issue can be the cold supply valve like John says but it can also be junk in the cold inlet of the mixing valve. Do John's steps first but if the problem persists then remove the catridge and clean.
