Can I shift overflow to meet drain for a bathrub
The tub is standard bath tub with a hole at the top front for the overflow and a hole in the bottom about 9" from the front for the drain; as I understand the p-trap has to go below the tee that joins the two holes directly under the overflow. My problem is I do not have space directly below the overflow to install the P-trap (tub is on second floor and is a shower tube combination). I do have space below the tub under the drain. Is it allowed by code to run the overflow pipe from the front of the tub to the drain (would use a 45 from overflow then a 90 to go along tub and another 90 to tee into drain). P-trap would be installed after this T connections and a dry vent after this p-trap.
