    Auto Accident
I got in a minor accident and the police weren't called. After a very little bit, I realized what a huge mistake that was. I accidentally rear ended someone and the damage was very minor. We exchanged information. What liabilities did I open myself up to? Thanks for the help.

    Hello in:

None really. If you were insured, you still are. If there's damages your insurance will pay. The only difference is you avoided a ticket. That ain't bad.

Call your insurance company and report the accident. If you don't have insurance, you're going to have to pay yourself. And, that's no different because you didn't call the police.

You didn't open yourself up to anything. This is the natural course after an accident. You should make sure to get a copy of the accident report and consider filing a claim with the other driver's insurance company.
