Hi mom, age of sexual or any other kind of consent in Texas is l7. So this fellow would be in serious trouble if anything happened.

Anybody can "date" anybody. There ain't no law about that. I'd use the words HAVE SEX, because that's what it's all about. And, NO. An 18 year old cannot HAVE SEX with a 14 year old - even if they've NEVER been on a date.

I've dated plenty of people WITHOUT having sex with them. It's not because I didn't try, but that's a different story.
