I have an 11 year old boy he has blisters on his penis and they looks purple. I took him to the ER and the dr said it was tinea versicolor or a yeast infection. My son says it hurts and it also bleeds. Is that suppose to happen? We told the Dr about the bleeding but he did not say anything about that.

You need to get him to his doctor as soon as possible for treatment.

At the ER,did they prescribe anything?Besides a diagnosis,was there ANY suggestions about how to treat this?

I had a similar infection when I was in my teens,they prescribed a cortisone cream and 'Tenactin' spray, it went away in a few days/week.etc.

But that was for my problem,not his,his sounds much more severe than mine was.As J-9 said,get him to a doctor,not the ER,as soon as possible.
