88 ford taurus stalls then starts again
My 88 Taurus 3.8L V6, stalls every time I step on the accelerator on the first start. I can start it again and be on my way. My routine is too start it, step on the gas to kill it, then start it again. This works for me just to get back and forth to work, while it sits for a while. But if I need to do some running around, and the engine is warm, it dies more often (only when accelerator is depressed). Now, today she stalled during take off at a green light and wouldn't start. Pushed it off to the side of the road, cranks fine, I have fuel pressure at the little bleeder (?) on the fuel rail (looks like a tire stem) fuel squirts out when I stick a poker in there. Well I let it sit for an hour went back to it and it fired right up. New cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, air filter. I am a truck mechanic, so I have some experience, but not a very good troubleshooter with this one. Any help will be appreciated!
Where is the ignition control module on an 88 Taurus 3.8L V6?
I cannot find the ignition control module (ICM) on my 88 Taurus. Is there one? Any help is greatly appreciated!
