I have something in the credit bureau from 2003 now they want me to pay
I received notice today that I owe $2400. From 2003/2004 I made a payment on this (last one) in May of 2004 for $200. Now they credit bureau is demanding paymnet on this account that has already gone to court( back in 2003) and they received judgement against me(they are threatening to garnish my wages) do I have to pay this since it is so long and I have not heard anything from them since 2004?

Credit bureaus do not demand payment, they report your credit score. A collection agency makes demands, often after the account has been sold for pennies after the SOL runs out. Where do you like and you are sure the last payment was 5-04, no payment or promise to pay since, right?

I will supply all info I was given today, amount of $2393 owed to Larilyn properties from 2003-2004 I live in London Ontario. The woman I spoke with stated that they had judgement and that they spoke with me in 2003 in regards to this and I made 2 payments first one was in June of 03 for $100. And the second payment was May 04 of $200. Nothing else has been paid on the account since 2004- she demanded that I set up a payment arrangement with her other wise she was going to garinsh my wages. I am not sure where to go in regards to this since it has been so long and to be honest I had completely forgotten about this debt, since I had not heard from them since May 04. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I offered to send in $100/mnth in money order since that is the only way I can pay them...

"I offered to send in $100/mnth in money order since that is the only way I can pay them" I am afraid you just shot yourself in the foot. A statement promising to pay restarts the statute of limitation which had probably run out and let you off the hook. You are back on the hook from what you have told us so far.

Even though they may have lied and stated that they were the credit bureau calling and not a collection agancy? Isn't that misleading and misinforming?

Maybe but now that question doesn't really matter if you acknowledged the dept was your's and offered to pay. Some collection agencies create names that even make themselves sound like they are a bank or part of the government just to intimidate you. http://www.lawfirms.com/resources/ba...n-agencies.htm

So basically I'm stick paying this bill from 7 years ago... can they still garnish my wages for this if I don't pay or if I miss a payment?

It was your bill to pay originally, right? From what you say they had a judgement years ago, right?

the bill was from an ex and myself yes, and yes the judgement is from 2003. Last payment that was made was in May of 2004- which was a $200 money order. I didn't know that the credit bureau didn't make calls to collect on accounts outstanding(maybe I am naive) there has been NO contact from them what so ever from may 04 until today. They did NOT inform me they were a collection agency, they did not verify that they were actually talking to me(only used my first name) no sin was used to verify. I am NOT stating that I won't pay but I would like to know if what they did was wrong and if I can legally complain to someone about misleading/misrepresenting themselves. When I said that I would make $100 payments I was given an address no account number and no info on whom I was to make the money order out too.
