I am installing a dishwasher across the kitchen from my sink (small kitchen). I am NOT a plumber, but I want to make sure the person who is installing it does it correctly. I know nothing about plumbing at all. I just keep reading and reading and not getting anywhere with it. I have called plumbers about it but can't get a consistent answer.


How do I find out what my local plumbing code is?

How far will the discharge hose run?
From where to where? What type of air gap will be used? If you can tell us how the plumber plans to do the job we can tell you if it's correct. In short we don't have enough information to give you a answer. Regards, Tom


Tell us your area or call your local Building Department and ask what plumbing code you fall under. Good luck, Tom

There is a lot of missing stuff. Key questions are:

1. Where is the drain?
2. How will it be vented? (AAV or stack)
3. How will backsiphoning be prevented?
Air gap, high loop. Is high loop permitted

Electric and hot water inlets are cake.
