I'm 16 and basically living with my boyfriend due to a living arrangement at my parent's house.
Ill be 17 in about 5 months, and my boyfriend is already 17. We've been together a year come next month. I'm almost positive I'm pregnant though I haven't taken an at home pregnancy test yet. My parents aren't very open people, and I don't think they'd react kindly to the situation. My boyfriend's parents are supportive 100%, and by Texas law, When I'm 17 I can leave my parents house and they can't do any thing about it. But I don't want to leave them on a bad note. I plan to have the baby, live with my boyfriend's parents till he gets a better job and we can get our own place, and live happily ever after.

What I'm asking is how I should tell my parents.

The answers to this question will vary greatly, but personally, if it were me I would just sit them down and have an open, honest discussion with them.

Your parents will respect you and your decision a lot more if you are open about it.

Make sure you have your plans ready, how you are going to care for the baby, what your career plans are, where you will live, your boyfriends plans, etc, make sure you mention everything to show that you have fully understood the situation and you are being responsible about it.

It's up to you whether you want to have your boyfriend there when you tell them. I probably wouldn't... just me and my parents.

BUT... take a test first. There are lots of reasons someone might feel pregnant, or have a late period. More often than not it's just PMS, stress, medications etc etc etc. There are a lot of reasons.

Talking to your parents as the poster above said is a good idea,have your plan in front of you.

I do query the fact your living with your boyfriend at 16,but if that's the arrangement that's the arrangement,however I don't know how they will be able to justify going off the rails when you were not even under their roof.

You try to have very calm and honest discussion with your parents .Just keep in mind your parents loves you a lot so don't try to hurt them in anyway.All the best.

I think being positive about the pregnancy should be the first step, because if you go "I'm pregnant!" then "never mind!" you'll just give them a heart attack.
I can sympathies with you because I was pregnant right before my 17th birthday as well. And my parents weren't exactly the most open either.
There really is no GOOD way to tell a parent that there little girl is going to have a little one of there own. I don't think they will accept it at first, no matter what you say. But be strong and they will grow onto it. Just make sure that you keep them connected through out the pregnancy. Like invite them to the ultrasounds and such. This will have them thinking about a new cuddly baby and not that its going to be there little girls baby.
