Should the lines coming from my heat pump going into the house be wrapped?
I just had my heat pump replaced. My old unit had some sort of black foam insulation covering at least one of the pipes that runs into the house. Now that the new unit is in place, the foam is laying on the ground. My question: is the foam really necessary? If so, can I pick it up at Lowe's or Home Depot, and should all the lines be wrapped?

Here's a quick and dirty picture, in case that helps:

That has to be one of the worst install jobs I have seen in a long time. Yes the larger lines should be insulated.
