My mother has an account in the Bahamas with her & my name on the account, she was killed before she was able to get me a statement, now the bank is refusing to search records for this account & insists the account is not at their bank, which I'm sure it is. I've hired a lawyer in the Bahamas & was told they found the account but could no longer represent me because they represented the bank in question. What can I do.

Maybe you should take a trip down there to research this yourself.
Do you not have the bank account number ? Did they know the name of the bank before they agreed to research for you? Its funny they would claim conflict of interest if they already knew the bank in question. Banks have several attorneys.
