If our house is in my husbands name only, (we are married) and something happends to him, will the house go to me and not his dependents?

If he dies without a will, his property will be distributed according to the laws of inheritance in your area. Generally a spouse does get preference, but you need to learn the law for your area. This can all be avoided by adding you to the deed as Joint Tenant with right of survivorship.
