    98 Honda Accord Shiftting Problems
We have a 98 Honda Accord, recently it started to have shiftting problems. Once you put it on Park it won't shift. Checked all the fuses, wiring, replaced blown brake light bulbs. Can anyone offer any advice.

There might be a problem with the shift interlock system. Many Hondas with A/Ts are equipped with 1) A/T selector with shift lock and, 2) key cylinder with interlocked ignition key. The shift lock system prevents the shift lever from moving to R or D4 from the P position, unless the brake pedal is depressed and the accelerator is in its rest position. In case of system malfunction, the shift lever might be released by pushing a key into the release slot near the shift. There may be a problem with the Shift Lock Solenoid, which may need replacing or adjusting.

If this doesn't sound like the problem, check for any transmission codes being thrown. Make sure to replace the transmission fluid and filter regularly.
