Just signing divorce papers does not necessarily mean you are divorced unless you received a decree nisi from the courts. That means the divorce has been finalized, but on the other hand, what negotiations were arrived at? What did you and he discuss about your house, your investments, your kids ?

So, terri, you can't get married again until you actually find out by hiring a lawyer, explaining to him your situation, and having him search the courts to see if you are or not.
