My friend was in target and she slipped a pair of earrings in her purse when I wasn't looking, and we walked out and the undercover security person came up to us and asked if we had anything we didn't pay for, and my friend said yes, and we got taken to the back of the store, and she asked for her details, and rung her parents to come, and she wrote down what happened, then the mall security person came and made her sign this form - so she was not allowed to go back to the store for one year, as she is only 17 years, and they took a photo of her , and just warned her not to do it again , but I'm not sure if they said they were going to tell the police..
She didn't know what she was doing, and she's awfully guilty and feels like her life is over becuae she won't become a teacher because of that.. will this give her a criminal record ? Thanks alot:) please answer truthfully ,

Unless she was actually arrested and went to court... she doesn't have a criminal record. However, she did know exactly what she was doing. Those earrings didn't fall into her purse after all. Its not the first time she did it, and likely won't be the last either. She's just sorry she got caught.

"The devil made me do it..." is a lame excuse people use to avoid accepting responsibility for their bad choices.
