If I jump the engine coolant temperature sensor by pulling the harness and putting a wire to connect the two leads the fan should go on?

If not,I'll try by passing the relay.Would it be done like this pull the harness to the relay Ground the ground wire and jump the dark green wire(relay)to the gray(hot) with a jumper wire with a 10 amp fuse in the jumper wire?

I have power to the relay! I put a meter on the lead in for the PCM on the relay and got a resistance of 2000 OHM. There is no continuity for the cooling fans lead!

I know these relays are known to go bad and it is not common for the PCM to have a problem with out the service engine light coming on in a situation like this?

If this is correct I should be able to replace the relay with one that is functioning and the car will not over heat any more because the system is working correctly?

Hopefully, you mean ECT Switch, not ECT Sensor. These links may help:

That should work but make certain you use a fused jumper. That's a 40 amp circuit. 10 might not be enough.

It may work, if that's the only problem causing the overheating.
