Ihave a 200a panal in my house. I want to put a 200a sub in my barn. I know seimans don't make a 200a 2pole breaker. Is there a lug kit available for doing this? Any suggestions?

Before I answer I would like to know more detail, can you describe the feeder, where the main breaker is, where the meter is, what is and how will the barn feeder run to the barn?

Pictures will help.

Anything you can offer will help me understand. If you have what I think, then major changes need to be done to do this.

Thanks for the reply tk.the service in the house is a seimans 200a main breaker panal fed with 2/0 copper. The meter is a 200a overhead meter socket about 30feet away on the outside of the house. Going out to the barn from the panal is 3/0 aluminum direct burial. In the barn is going to be a 200a main breaker panal. The service on th house is only a year old so I did not want to have to change the meter socket. My thought was to see if seimans has a sub feed block I can snap in this panal because it is only half full. Any suggestions will help THANKS

Great, no problem. Now once you create a subpanel in the barn, do you know how to connect the neutral and ground? Check several old posts here in the electrical forum for the details.


Also, if the barn is for livestock, be sure to create an Equiopotential Ground Plane to protect the livestock from ground faults and stray currents.
