    Kenmore Evaporator Fan Problem
The evaporator fan in our Kenmore Elite refrigerator stopped working, causing the fridge section to stay warm while the freezer was running OK. I replaced the fan with a new approved substitute (Maytag 12013211Q), but still nothing at all happens, even though I'm getting voltage at the terminals. Suspecting a defective new motor, I also tried jumping the terminals to a 115V muffin fan that I know works, but with no result. The voltage coming out of the terminals is 107 volts. Is it possible that this is too low to drive this fan? I can't imagine why else might cause it not to work. The fridge has been on the same dedicated outlet for 10 years, and I hear the compressor fan running fine.

I didn't look up the model#, but I would look for thermistors.

Thanks - The thermostat part number for my model is 10442409. If the thermostat is faulty, could it still allow limited current through to the fan like this? Doesn't it just toggle the evaporator fan on or off? (I'm puzzled!).
