    When upgrading from a2 ton ac unit to a 3 ton ac unit do I need to replace the coils
    The apartments that I live at had to replace our 2 tonac unit with a 3 ton ac unit. We want to know if they need to replace the coils to match it . It does not seem to cool as good

    Yes indoor coil needs to be changed to match the outdoor unit and if switching from R-22 to R-410A refrigerant the line set will also need to be changed not only for suction line size but because the oils used in the different refrigerants are not compatible. You will also probably need to increrase the suction line size as mentioned before. FOLLOW the manufactures directions EXACTLY or you could have a early system failure.

    Probably because the 3 ton is to big for your apt.to much humidity,, but yes the evap coil should be changed also,,
