My cat gave birth to a dead kitten 30 hours ago and she still has not had the rest she is feeding and drinking and the vet does not seem worried its just I have never heard this before
Cats can stop labor if they don't feel safe. It's also possible that the rest of the kittens aren't ready to be born. Her body may have expelled the dead kitten to give the others room and time to finish growing.
If you're vet isn't worried, and momma's not distressed, then you just have to wait it out.
Are you sure there are other kittens? Can you feel them moving around? Can you hear heartbeats when you place your ear against her stomach?
The same thing is happening to my cat. She is usually skinny but after giving birth to her dead kitten
She hasn't given birth to anymore kitten. She still looks pregnant. What do I do?
