Thermal Protector Fuse on PAR 36 Light Bulb Necessary?
I have a low voltage landscaping light which uses a PAR 36 bulb. It was originally installed with a thermal protector fuse (at least I think that's what it is) in the pigtail wiring between the bulb and the 12v landscape wire. What purpose would the fuse have in this scenario and is it really necessary on low voltage? I'm replacing the pigtail and bulb and need to know if the fuse is actually necessary.

So.. you think you know what it is, and you think you don't need it. Let me ask you this... do you think the mfg. put it there for a reason? (whatever it is)
