Recently when my Trane central air conditioner turns on the blower doesn't. It just groans loudly and doesn't move. If I start it spinning and then turn it on it works fine, it just won't start spinning on its own. A few times I have tried to watch it start it will give one or two loud clicks then groan loudly and not move and a few times it even shook a little bit each way but never started.

To make things really interesting a few times it started on its own but started spinning the wrong way when it did.

Any ideas.

Just groan back at it, lol,sounds like you need a new capicitor,, get an exact match,the numbers written on the label

Thanks, that's what my father said, funny how I should just listen to him 1st.

I just replaced the capacitor and there was no change. Anyone have any other ideas that may help.

Now it starts sometimes and goes backwards?!
