Shower - hot water comes out makes a noise and shuts off completely
I live in an apartment building and recently replaced my shower head with a new one that has a hose attached I noticed before and now that when I turn on the hot water it runs for a few second then makes a horrible noise - sort of like the wall will explode and then the hot water shuts completely off I have to do this a few times in the morning until I usually turn on the hot water then immediately turn on the cold a little and then I can take a normal shower without a problem. I spoke with my super he tried the water pressure in the bathroom sink and suggested that I run the water for a few minutes in the sink before I took a shower (water pressure is good and no problem in the sink) I tried this and nothing changed, he also suggested that this happens a lot in apartment buildings and I shouldn't worry - but I am scared a pipe will burst or something any suggestions?
I just tried last night turning on the shower and I didn't have this problem at all, and the next morning I tried and the water shut off but no noise, so I will just wait and see unless anyone has any suggestions. The super said they might have done something to the main hot water valve, or the hot water tank in the basement... 2 knobs to the shower - it's a separate shower stall, old..
