Man with wife in coma, haunted house independent
I rented this movie once and cannot remember the name. Only a few characters, not too old, no-name actors. Story of a man bringing his comatose wife to a cabin to recover and the house makes him start to hallucinate and go completely crazy?

My internet research found this... Could this be it?

    Dead And Gone Synopsis:

Jack and his comatose wife take up refuge in an isolated cabin with a dark secret.
    Dead And Gone Review:

After his wife Frankie (Kathrine Bates, Vampire at Midnight, Days of Our Lives) falls into a coma as a result of an allergy to anesthesia from elective surgery, actor Jack Wade (Quentin Jones, video game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Hollyoaks) decides that despite a lack of medical training, he and his wife should hole up in his isolated cabin away from anyone and anything. Despite having owned the cabin for several years, a prize from a winning poker hand, this marks the first time that Jack has visited it.

What Jack does not know, is that 40 years ago the cabins resident killed his daughter in her sleep, tortured and killed his wife and then took his own life. This horrific event has given the cabin a certain local lore, one that Jack casts aside as the beliefs of a group of rednecks.

Jack settles into the cabin and the monotonous life it provides. He exercises daily and chops firewood all day long. Jack soon begins to experience the power of the house when he begins to suffer from visions of various images and hallucinations. Jack begins to encounter a variety of ghosts including the murder wife of the man from 40 years before as well as the insane man and visions of his comatose wife walking around.

Soon Jack slips further into his dementia, eventually accidentally killing the nurse hired to check in on his wife, Nurse Clark (Marilyn Ghigliotti, Clerks, Whos Your Daddy?). This marks the beginning of his killing spree as he slips further and further into a murderous rage.

Dead and Gone features guest appearances from a variety of notable people including Kyle Gass, co-member, across from actor Jack Black, of the comedy band Tenacious-D, actor Chris Bruno from the hit television show The Dead Zone, and Evanescence co-founder Ben Moody.

Despite a relatively strong cast and an interesting plot, Dead and Gone really falls apart. On the visual side, there is a separation between the exterior of the cabin, which appears very small, and the interior, presumably a set, which appears much larger. Most detrimental to the film, however is the awful makeup and special effects. The so called ghosts are pathetic attempts and a waste of grey dead flesh powder. Lastly, the case artwork, for some idiotic reason, includes a picture of Jack in the same ghostly makeup, revealing key plot points in the film.

Dead and Gone just cannot keep up its pace and is, in the end, a huge disappointment.

The DVD release of Dead and Gone features the film, presented in widescreen and featuring a 5.1 stereo surround soundtrack. The special features include a feature length commentary with director Yossi Sasson and screenwriter Harry Shannon. It also features a featurette, Gone with the Dead: The Making of Dead and Gone as well as deleted scenes, outtakes and a trailer gallery.
