    House electricity one room fluctuation
We have a problem with lights and the TV flickering on and off in one room of the house. In a different room (kitchen) on separate circuits, the same thing happens with only the microwave and stove. No problems in any other rooms or circuits. This is a new problem starting just a week or so ago. A new board was installed three years ago and the wiring to the kitchen is all new; the wiring to the other room with flickering lights is original. Any ideas?

Check if all the neutrals are tight in the neutral buss inside the panel. If the electricians put different size or too many wires under one screw, they can come loose after time from heating and cooling. I've seen it several times. Also check the screws on the breaker. Same thing happens if they aren't tightened down correctly. (Edit, hit the wrong button) I've seen that more than once too. After that, you can have an outlet in the chain that is not tightened down correctly. If the outlets are daisy chained and back-wired, I would expect that to happen sooner or later. Or a badly installed wire nut. At the risk of sounding like a broken record (showing my age :-)), I've had to chase those down and repair them too.
