What about when your daughter doesn't want a party for her high school graduation?
My daughter sent out announcements to family members about 3 weeks prior to her
Graduating from high school. Since she chose not to have a party, we did not expect any
Gifts or money from anyone. Some did send a card with money, but the majority of my
Husband's family, cousins , aunts, uncles, that live closeby, within 30 min. did not even
Acknowledge her graduating. They did not email her a congrats, they did not send a card,
They did not even communicate with her. My question is, is that appropriate? Like I said
In no way did we expect a gift or money, she just expected to be acknowledged. And
They said nothing. They didn't send an email saying congratulations, they never sent
A card, they never even touched base with her. These are relatives that communicate
On a daily basis with me, and the family. Yet, nothing was said to me nor the family nor
The graduate in acknowledging she was graduating.

You can't make people have good manners

Many people don't don't send anything unless there's a party, some people do. It depends on the person.

I realize that you're hurt that they didn't send anything, not even a card or a phone call, but it may not be a big deal to them. Obviously it is to you.

You can't control what other people do or don't do. Just make sure your daughter knows how proud you are of her. That should be enough.

Are you sure the announcements actually got mailed out?

If they did, I'd pick out a close friend or relative or two or three who should have gotten one but who didn't even send a card, and ask why not.

There are many people in this world today that don't realize how to lick a stamp and put it on an envelope.. if it's not electronic, the don't deal with it..
