Immediately after I draw my first pay my mother wanted to take control of my money. When I confront her she gets angry. Why? What can I say to her?

It would seem by both your threads there is a lack of communication between you and your mother.

Set aside some time to discuss what it is that really is bothering her about your boyfriend,and perhaps,she may like to meet him to see her herself that he is a nice guy.

Is your father in your life? If not maybe your mom is taking the role of both mom and dad. Parents can be very protective of their children. Are you an only child?

No parent wants to see their kid get hurt, or be with someone who will not treat them right. If you do not smoke, your mom may think that him smoking around you will lead you to smoke.

I think Red is on to something with sitting your mom down and having a good talk to her about why you like him, and why she doesn't.
