New starter motor fitted still just clicking not even trying

Is the battery fully charged?
Clean, tight connections on both ends of both battery cables?
You may want to do voltage drop tests to make certain.

Remove and fully charge or replace the battery. Most auto parts stores will test and charge batteries for free.
