    Molluscum contagiousum
My son is 6 years old and has been diagnosed with molluscum contagiousum. I have taken him to see a demertologist 3 times already and he has perscribed him different types of ointments and nothing has worked. The last cream percribed was aldara cream 5%, I have applied it on him but the papule get irritated, they itch and sometimes bleed. My son is so tired of having them and embarsed of them, What can I apply, don't know what to do? Do you know if Terrasil® cream really work? Please advice

My daughter's doctor didn't bother prescribing anything because he said that nothing will work. He said I could take her to a dermatologist who could freeze them off but they would just keep coming back until the virus ran its course.

What we did (with her pediatrician's blessing) was dab a drop of tea tree oil on them after every bath. I think it helped to shrink them a bit and we found that they didn't get irritated that often.

The virus disappeared after about a year.

Thank you very much for your advice. I am going to try the tea bag remedy, hopefully it will help the iritation along with the itching.

I used tea tree oil. You can get it at health food stores. Expensive and very strong. I would dip a q-tip in it and dab each one once.

Have they gone away? My son's are very irritated, and he has them mostly underneath his chin.

Yep. All gone. They were mostly on the inside of one arm and on her side. It lasted about a year.
