    Code height of basement outlet
I have a split level ranch with a 2 car attached garage. The garage floor is 18" higher than the basement floor. A 2-step down into the basement. I am making the basement into a family room. Is there a code restriction regarding electric receptical outlets and/or a minimum/maximum distance to install outlets up from the basement floor? A dry environment!

We should move this to electrical and lighting, not safety. It will get more answers. Which code has your town adopted, IRC?

There is no Code requirement for height of receptacles, anywhere.

TK, Not a code guy by any means and I am sure you will know. I thought that there was a code height for a basement receptacle due to the potential of floouding. Old wives tale?

Must be an old tale. There is nothing in the National Electric Code that dictates height of receptacles.
