What causes petunia leaves to turn brown?
I have five petunia double peppermint hanging baskets, They lookd ice but now they are wilting ,the leaves are brown on the edges and even the small leaves are brown . I called the nursery where I bought them and they told me I watered them too much or fertilized too much or I have a bug in tthem . I have only had them about a week and a half. I was talking to another grower of flowers and he told me that you can't over water or over fertilize petunias . I don't know who to believe and I don't know what to do for these plants. I have spent more on these plants than I have ever paid for hanging baskets .And I have had a lot. And it is very depressing. Please Help! Thanks in adavance for your advice.

    Just Dahlia

    1. If your pot drains, then you are OK with water, no one wants to be
    Sitting in murk.

    2. I have never fertilized Petunias:confused: they just grow

    3. The only problem I have had with them is bugs. Do you have a
    Insect/decease spray?

    4. If you can't return them, you can always cut them down and they will
Come back. I have some from last year just starting to bloom.

    5. I always buy from a store that I can return to, not sure where you are
From but Home Depot and Lowe's guarantee their plants for a year
(with a receipt) I have returned many things constantly, sometimes
    Every week.

Do you deadhead your petunias? I do this daily to mine to increase flower production. If I go two days without deadheading they all look wilted.
