    Drugs and the Amygdala organ.
I smoke pot. I know it's bad. The last few times though I had a bad experience. It felt like my whold nervous system was in shock. There was constant twitching and an extremely blurred vision. I also noticed from reading online that this isn't uncommon to people. So I started doing some research. My original theory was that there might be an organ in the brain that deteriorates when you smoke cannabis and so I started in that direction. I found that most people blamed this on panic attacks. Being a person who isn't under stress I disbelieved this. But there is an organ called the Amygdala that trigers the fear from surprises and can cause panic attacks. It is also the area of the brain believed to be the key to our "super brains." Could smoking marijuana be damaging this area until it begins to trigger panic attack? Is this life threatening? And finally, can the Amygdala be healed? I'm sorry if some of my facts or terminology is wrong, I am not a doctor.

I believe you are unnecessarily complicating a common problem. An adverse reaction to a psychoactive substance.

The amygdala is central to monitoring emotions and acts to put the body on alert, there is no reason to consider organic damage or dysfunction based on inappropriate or unexpected affectation following ingestion of psychoactive substance.

It could be that this reaction is temporary or it could have developed across time, similar to allergic reactions. As you indicate the aversive reaction results from (and following) smoking marijuana and that points to some systemic incompatibility as opposed to organic damage.

Adverse reactions are not unusual to marijuana and are not generally associated with amygdala dysfunction or any other brain disorder.

hummm, reading your post reminds me of a bad trip in the 70's.

First the bain is the organ, the Amygdala or more properly the nucleus amygdalae is merely nuclei that are located in the frontal lobe. It is not a separate organ. That area controls many things, from facial expression, to assits in the sense of smell, it also helps control reactions to emotional responses.
So if you want to "treat" it, go though serious brain wash procedures to unlearn your life time of emotional responses.

Next are you growing your own or buying it. Make sure it is clean ( not mixed or have additives on it) you should not be having such effects. It should make you mellow and perhaps wanting serious snacks latter.

Short of fear of discovery, you are over thinking and freaking out for nothing.
