My stylist dyed my hair from med/blonde/brown to the darkest shade of brown imaginable. Almost black. My hair is porous, fine and the curl tends to frizz. She's afraid to use One & Only Color Fix on it and says it will fry my hair. Will it fry my hair? She used a permanent dye. I've been scrubbing with Head & Shoulders and conditioning like crazy but it's still TOO dark. She's not familiar with Color Zap or Color Fix. She's got me freaked out now that my hair is going to melt off or burn. I don't have the healthiest hair to start with. I just want to cry.

You should try to not dye your hair, and use repair serums to create your healthier hair. You could try using Morrocan Argan Tree Oil it should add shine and create healthier hair. You should consult your hairdresser. You should get a haircut [even a trim to eliminate any dead ends]. Wash your hair every day, and try to not use a lot of heat or chemicals on your hair. Worrying about your hair won't make it healthier; but taking great care of it will. For your color issue, you could use the color you have now and focus all your attention on creating a healthier hair. But, if you have to find a single color that is close to your natural shade and dye it that color and then do not use heat or dye it again, make sure to trim it every few months of split ends, and wash daily. Thank you for your reply. I cannot live with this color. It's the worst thing I've ever seen. Would Color Zap be gentler than Color Fix?

By the way, I do use Morrocan Argan Tree Oil. I love it. I also rarely use a hair dryer on my hair preferring to let my curl do it's thing. ;)

You could consult your hairdresser with this question. I am not sure which would be gentler. What company is Color Fix? I would recommend dying your hair back to a color that is closer to your natural hair color and then repairing it.

You could try either one, but I think you should be very cautious using chemicals on your hair. Since you are very unhappy with your current color, I would recommend dying it closer to your original color and then treating it and caring for it to be healthy.
