Waterproofing Deck
I am building a new deck with 5/4 x 6 ACQ treated lumber. I have three questions. How long do I need to wait to seal the deck? I want to use a clear sealer/waterproofer. What is a recommendation on a waterproofer? I have seen a CEDARSHIELD waterproofer that claims to be a lifetime sealer. Anyone have experience with this product?

My only experience with any deck product that claims to be lifetime is that it must be someone eles's lifetime. Deck sealers are good for 3-5 year at the very most. Let your 5/4 dry for 6 months and spray on A good product of your choice. Seems everyone here has their favorite, I like Thompsons Thompson's® WaterSeal® Waterproofer Plus Clear Wood Protector - ThompsonsWaterSeal.com

I'm with Bob, now you have an assigned task for Thanksgiving Day.

Just spray with garden sprayer.

Common problem with many owners of second-level deck facing is how to effectively deck waterproof the pavement, so they can get dry storage space below. There are indications that several options can be considered, although most of the tasks is not entirely DIY, but need the professional contractor.
