My 1 1/2 year old Golden Retriever has developed a limp at night after lying down in the past three weeks. She shows no signs of pain and limps only for a few steps. She will stretch and seem to be fine. She does stairs easy and has no problems or hesitance standing on her hind legs to greet people. She is as playful as ever. Like I said she shows no signs of discomfort, besides the apparent stiffness temporarily at night in her right rear leg.
However, I am concerned that she may have a hip dysphasia. Could it be a fracture? I used to exercise her quite hard running full speed on a area football field and sometimes in a parking lot until this issue developed. Any opinions? I also bought her a package of glucosamine/chondroitin supplements and really have no idea how much a 70 pound dog should take.
