    Pay deductions due to lateness
    Hi,
My employee has recently introduced pay deductions due to lateness. Its £1 per every minute you are late, we are paid hourly and do not get paid extra if work for instance extra 15min.
It does say in the contract that I will be fined if I clock in late. Is it legal ? Sometimes my shifts are only 4h long... if I'm 20min late... its not worth going to work anymore :)

    Can anyone advise?
    Thanks

Nope, not legal. Call EEOC if necessary. Do you have a union. Not sure what the Brit equivalent is for EEOC but it's a fair labor board.
