Dip tube or new water heater
Hot water only lasts about 15-20 minutes
Suggested may be the dip tube.
How do I determine if dip tube can be fixed and will that solve the problem?
What is now recommended when a water heater is needed?

    Thank you
    Steve

    Hey Steve,

The first thing I would check is the upper and lower elements. Have you found small hard white chunks in the hot water when you run a faucet? If so then check the dip tube but check the elements first. The manufactures give a water heater 8 to 10 years but with care and flushing on a regular schedule they can last as lone as the tank holds water. My water heater is a single element 30 gallon heater that was built into the kitchen cabinet 52 years ago when the house was built. Still working with no problems. Regards, tom
