Ok so a short question I am 17 and this girl really likes me and I really like her. She's like 14 though so is that to young? I don't at all plan on anything sexual if we were to date for those of you who think that's what its about. She's a nice girl and I have a lot of fun with her. So again my question is, is she to young for me to date?

I have a question for you. How are you going to take the criticism of the folks that believe a 17 year-old dating a 14 year-old is weird?

Slapshot does have a point, people can be critical ages ages especially in teens. How do her parents feel about her dating someone older? My first boyfriend was three years older than me and it was a good relationship but I was 17 and he was 20. 14 is still really young for some girls so be careful whatever you decide.

Why do you have to date yet??

If you both get along and enjoy each others company keep doing it and just hang out.

If she is under sixteen, it may be illegal in some states/provinces/countries, for you to date her in the first place. You may want to check the statutes where you live.

If you have doubts, then don't date her. I would play it safe if it were me, and not date anybody under 16.

You can still make that decision if you have not crossed the friendship to boyfriend girlfriend boundary.

There is a fine line between friendship, and boyfriend girlfriend. You can say that sex is not an issue, and that's fine, but it does, can and will happen if you are not extremely careful.

What do her parents think about this. Have you met them?
