My home was built in 1977 and has had basement flooding problems ever since it was built. After we consulted countless plumbers and a Hydrologist, who charged $300/hour, we were left with a wet basement and 2 sump pumps in the basement floor (2 locations). We finally hired Desert Dry who dug a trench around the problem areas and installed an outdoor sump pump. YAYYYY We have a bone dry basement with 2 sump pumps no longer needed nor used. How do we fill these in , seal them so that we do not have flooding after heavy rains, and floor over them? Thank You.

I assume there is a pit these pumps used to stand in. Just fill the pit with concrete.

Fill them in with concrete (as Milo said), or put sump pump pit covers over them.

How long since Desert Dry did their thing? I'd wait a couple of years. If your basement is truly dry, no water will accumulate in the sump crocks, so they won't be overflowing. If any water accumulates in the pit you may need the pumps. If dry for a couple years fill with sand and concrete over them. Should you need them later you can break out the concrete and remove the sand.
