I'm lookling for a movie - it was in color - that came out I think in the 1960's. Plot: mythical middle european kingdom is broke. To raise money the leaders decide to declare war on the united states, lose, and then receive foreign aid. But when they send an advance party of their army, dressed in medieval uniforms like knights, they land in New York to find the city streets empty - seems there's a national holiday or something that's keeping everyone indoors. Anyway, they capture the city and the u.s. surrenders.
I'm a little sketchy as to what happens after that - most of the rest of the film takes place in the european kingdom. Hope this is enough for someone to come up with the title.
