Slander

Slandering my name Slander Hi I have had this hanging over my head for quite a few years now and I need help as to what I can do about it. Some one has been telling people that I took a credit card out in there name when all that really happened was I took a credit card out for a store when they asked for some one else's address in case I disappeared I gave there address as it was the only one I could think of at the time. Hense I missed a couple of payments they then got a card asking for my were about's they then rang me they then rang the people who sent the card who then told them that there address was on the application form, so they now think that I took it out using there address since then I have found out they tell people I used there name is their any think I can do .

You're not making any sense. Start from the beginning.

A few years ago I took a store card out when filling in the application form they asked for some one's address as a security so I gave the only address I could think of at the time.
Then I missed a couple of payments and I did not let them know why so the person whose address I gave at the time then reciveced a card in the post asking for my were abouts , they then procceded to get in touch with the company who gave me the store card who then told them that there address was on the application form, so they think that I took the store card out in there address big fall out not spoke foe years then I recently found out that they have been telling people I used there name to get the store card. When I confronted they said they are taking me to court I think it should be me taking them to court for slandering my name please help

Did you use these peoples name to get the credit card?

No my own name and address I had to give a name and address in case of none payment and no contact which hense I missed a couple of payments with no explaintion

She took a credit card out, they wanted a reference name in case she did not pay, She gave this others persons address and name ( without asking them or without telling them that she listed their address)

After that she started or failed to pay her bill.

So after the credit card company had to start collections, they contacted the reference she gave.

So for some reason the reference thinks she gave their address as her address.

So the cause of this
1. listed reference without telling them or their permission
2. not paying her bill on time and not keeping in contact

This could have been avoided by merely making sure the credit company had a way to contact you.

So now you want to blame someone else for thinking bad ?

I think maybe you need to talk with an attorney. Did they give you permission to give their address? I think not. You shouldn't be worried about slander.. you should be worrying about fraud.

Look.. I'm trying to be diplomatic and give you the correct advise. We try to tell people what is right and if it isn't what you want to hear that's still what we're here for.

Now that all of OP's offensive posts have been pulled there is nothing left to explain the situation.

Amazing that "we" are stupid and he's the one who uses some else's address and doesn't pay his bills.

He has been told his legal options - doesn't like them but now he knows what they are.

At any rate - nothing more to do here.
