How do you figure out gases?
A gas under a pressure of 74 mmHg and at a temperature of 75 C occupies a 500.--L container. How many moles of gas are in the container?

Use the formula PV = nRT

Where P is the pressure of the gas,
V is the volume of the gas
n is the number of moles,
R is the molar gas constant, with a value of 8.31 J/(Kmol)and
T is the temperature of the gas.

This value of R is for the SI units of all the above dimensions. You must convert pressure to pascals, volume to m^3, and temperature to kelvin if you use the value of R as 8.31 J/(Kmol).
