I'm sorry to say that its illegal:( If you are over the age of 18 then you can't date someone under that age!

In England it would be perfectly legal, we have equal rights here and as long as you're both over 16 its legal, Im older than my husband, age is just a number, if 2 people are happy together are of a legal age (16) then there's nothing wrong with them dating.

I don't know if this also applies in the USA.

The combination of a 16 year old boy and an immature 19 year old girl is not a good one. I'd be objecting too.

We're trying to get more information so we can best help you and answer your question. We need to know where you are. Not the city or anything specific, just the country and state so we know what the laws are. As far as I know, no where has laws regarding dating. There are however laws regarding sexual contact (of any sort, not just intercourse), and those vary by location. Also, even if the 19 year old is not having any sort of sexual contact with the 16 year old, if the 16 year olds mother has told the 19 year old to stay away and the 19 year old continues to come around the 16 year old, there might be legal problems for the 19 year old.

Mom of boy has more sense and life experience than the boy and the girl. That should tell you something.
It may be legal but it's not smart.

My friend is 21 her boyfriend is 18 they have been togther for 3 years. He was 15 and she was 18 when they started dating. His mum didn't like her a first but they became friends and then his mum agreed to let them date as she had gotten to know her.

It all depends on the people involved.

I started dating my ex when I was 16 and he was 19. We were together for 6 years. Just saying.
