Child support laws after 18 ma
First let me say I totally agree with a man paying childsupport. Here is our situation. We live in MA. He has been paying child support for 10 years now. His youngest will be 18 in Jan however she is still in school. Although she will probably not graduate because her mother who has full custody does not make her go to school. Each year she misses 88 days at least each year. My question is does he still have to pay child support until she is 21 due to her living at home, not going to school, nor working? The mother uses the children as meal tickets. The mother gets Section 8, child support, takes another daughters SSDI and has a live in boyfriend. When is enough enough? Please help.

If you want to modify the support order you have to go to court and present your case.

Okay thanks. I figured it might be we have to go to court to modify. Would she still be entitled to the same amount?

I don't know. It would depend on the case you can make. I would advise getting an attorney.

So much will depend on the state ( if in the US) and what the original order says. In some, child support stops at 18, period, in others it goes past 18 if full time in school or according to the support agreement
