I paid 2500 deposit and my landlord only returned 355... is this legal?

Did the landlord provide a list of deductions from the deposit to show how s/he arrived at the $355 figure?

If he didn't provide a list at how he got at that figure thenwhat he did is probably illegal, but can't really say because I believe all state real estate laws are different.

I agree, we would need to know where you live and also read the part of your lease about deposits.
