Tenant Notices are used to inform the landlord the tenant is terminating the lease, vacating the property or requests repairs on property owned by the landlord
You did not state where you reside however, most common in lease agreement are provision for early termination - for situation can and do change.

In some cases a rental agreement/lease has a section for a right to early termination as long as the following occur:
    • You must give 30 day notice, prior to lease termination
    • You must pay a early termination fee
    • You must re-pay a concession and discount and it must be paid to the owner of the lease (this agreement is included in the lease agreement-at the time of signing)

What are the terms of the lease for getting out, they wlil have to pay the penalty the lease asks for and give the notice required,

Or they stay there and move next August, a baby does not require a lot of space at first

Unless the lease includes a termination clause, then they are stuck. Such a change is not going to be grounds for terminating the lease, especially without penalty.

But I agree with Chuck, even if they have the baby in the apt, initially its not going to take up much room. I would start looking for a new apt next May or June. Or you might look into subletting.
