    Is my eyebrow piercing infected?
I pierced it 4 days ago with a sterilized needle and used a sterilized ring. I've been cleaning it twice a day with cleaning solution made especially for piercings. It's been red, which I expected, but it still hurts and now it's a little bit swollen. It might be because I've been spinning the ring too much but I'm not sure. Please help!

Yes, you have been spinning it too much and I doubt the cleaning solution, if it is not saline, is doing much good.

Here are instructions for cleaning eyebrow piercing from website EHow.com:

    #
    Step 1

Wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap and hot water before touching or cleaning your eyebrow piercing. This is crucial for preventing the introduction of bacteria to the area.
    #
    Step 2

Clean your eyebrow piercing at least twice a day using a saline solution. The simplest and least painful way to do this is by soaking a cotton ball in the saline and placing it over the piercing site. Soaking the area with saline will loosen any built up crust and make further cleaning more effective.
    #
    Step 3

Put some antibacterial soap or saline solution into a squirt bottle. Squirt or pour the solution over the piercing site, being careful to shield your eyes with a towel. This should be done for several minutes to ensure the entire area has been cleaned.
    #
    Step 4

Rinse the area well with clean water until all traces of the soap or saline have been removed.
    #
    Step 5

Gently pat the area dry using a paper towel. Avoid using cloth towels, as lint may become trapped inside the piercing site and increase the chance of infection.

Did you place the needle and ring in an autoclave? How do you know it is sterilized?
